Player of the week Dec. 7th - Dec. 11th

December 7th-11th
Co-players of the week
David Naranjo
Naranjo, a junior goalkeeper, had nine saves in the match versus Castle Park. The Titans defense allowed three goals, however, all of them were a result of unfortunate slips caused by the rain. In a heroic and valiant effort Naranjo had three consecutive saves on a counter-attack by the Trojans, which eventually resulted in a goal. Naranjo suffered a mild-concussion immediately after the play, he should be back in the net for the Titans this week.
Christian Mederos
Mederos, a junior midfielder/forward, scored a magnificent strike from about 18 yards out in the first half against the Trojans netting the brilliant pass from sophomore Hector Rivera Jr. Despite controlling most of the possession the Titans found themselves trailing 2-0, however, behind the inspirational play of Mederos and Naranjo, the Titans equalized the score 2-2 with 18 minutes remaining. Mederos displayed his versatility and took over in the net after Naranjo’s concussion, and even had one save.
Notable: The Titans are now 0-2. The Titans first loss was to Granite Hills, CIF Div. 1 quarterfinalist, a match in which the Titans dominated possession and hit the post twice. Granite Hills just tied Torrey Pines, last years’ Div. 1 champion,  on Saturday Dec. 12th 1-1.   The second loss was to the Trojans who last year reached the Div. 3 semifinals, the Titans had most of the possession and had more shots on goal and corner kicks than the Trojans in the second half, the match finished 3-2.
